NTT Communications Outlines Success of its Enterprise Cloud Platform

NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) is a wholly owned subsidiary of NTT, and a provider of consultancy, architecture, security and cloud services for optimizing the information and communications technology (ICT) environments of enterprises. Recently, the company shared some of its expertise in the area of software-defined networking (SDN) at the Open Networking Summit, specifically covering aspects of SDN strategy, operations and development, as well as the operational efficiencies of its Enterprise Cloud platform.

NTT Com launched its SDN-based Enterprise Cloud back in June 2012 in select data centers in Japan and Hong Kong. However, the Enterprise Cloud only just became globally available this past February after rolling out to data centers in Singapore and England, as well as Virginia and California in the United States.

Throughout spring, NTT Com plans to further rollout this product in eight countries and 10 locations.

“NTT Communications’ Enterprise Cloud is gaining traction in several sectors, especially among global manufacturers looking to consolidate systems and assets,” said Yukio Ito, senior vice president of Service Infrastructure at NTT Com. “Global enterprises continue to look to NTT Com as a partner of choice for real-world cloud transformation, relying on our foundation of advisory, migration, operational and management services.”

Enterprise Cloud is a virtualized Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offering that acts as a flexible extension of the enterprise data center, enabling it to connect to existing private networks to the cloud and gain additional cost-optimized and secure compute capacity. Since NTT Com is a global provider with multiple data center locations, it may offer clients cloud-based services to practically anywhere.

Those interested in more in-depth SDN discussion — as well as a look at the technologies and components involved in SDN, its use cases and the players currently moving the industry forward — registration is now open for the SDN Pre-Con at ITEXPO Las Vegas.

The event takes place on August 26 from noon until 5:00 p.m.

SDN PRECON at ITEXPO Miami

Software-defined network is considered by many to be one of the most important, and potentially disruptive, developments in networking since the rise of the Internet. To date, networks and connectivity have come first, and applications have followed. SDN turns this model on its head, approaching networking from an apps-first standpoint.

In this SDN pre conference at ITEXPO Miami, we will define SDN, look at the technologies and components involved in SDN, the use cases of SDN, the players involved in moving SDN forward, and what this all means for networking as we know it.
